History

Kaplan College (formally San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants) is one of the oldest private career schools in Texas that teaches allied health programs. The College began operating in San Antonio in 1966, preparing thousands of students for careers in allied health and business. In 1984, a branch campus was established in McAllen to serve the needs of students in southern Texas. In 1999, the College began teaching computer technology courses in order to meet the growing needs for skilled technicians in these fields.

Today, the College is proud to be part of Kaplan Higher Education Corporation, which provides diversified, career-oriented, postsecondary educational programs. As part of such a prestigious company, Kaplan College continues to provide the same excellent education for which it is known.
